IASP World Conference from 24–27 September 2024 in Nairobi

IASP World Conference from 24–27 September 2024 in Nairobi

The 41st IASP World Conference is less than a month away, set to take place from 24–27 September 2024 at The Edge Convention Centre in Nairobi. The event will bring together over 70 speakers from our global innovation ecosystem to explore the theme, “Demographics, entrepreneurship, and technology: Defining the frontiers of future economies.”

Main programme highlights

IASP Nairobi will feature a series of key sessions addressing the critical intersections of demographics, entrepreneurship, and technology. Plenary sessions will explore how innovation spaces can drive sustainable growth and shape future economies, with a focus on youth entrepreneurship ecosystems, the circular economy, and inclusive innovation for underserved populations.

In addition to the plenary sessions, a diverse range of breakout discussions will delve into areas such as innovation in emerging markets, sustainable development models, digital transformation in education, and more. These sessions aim to provide practical insights and foster discussions on leveraging innovation for economic and societal development across different regions. Detailed information is available in the IASP Nairobi programme.

Venue and social events

The conference will be held at The Edge Convention Centre, a state-of-the-art facility located near the Nairobi National Park. Attendees will benefit from the centre’s proximity to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, just 10 minutes away, and its modern facilities.

Networking opportunities will be plentiful, with evening events held at locations such as Nairobi’s iconic Emara Ole Sereni hotel, opposite Nairobi National Park, and the Nairobi National Museum, where guests will have a chance to visit the museum and discover more about the history of our host country. The gala dinner on 26 September will take place at Kenya’s renowned Carnivore restaurant, where guests can enjoy a variety of dishes (including vegetarian and vegan options!) while enjoying some time under the beautiful Kenyan sky.

Technical tours and safaris

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in technical tours offering hands-on exploration of Kenya’s vibrant technology landscape. Highlights include visits to Konza Technopolis, the Safaricom Innovation Centre, and the Luban IoT Lab & Jitume Hub at Machakos University. Make sure to secure your place during the registration process, or by logging back into your booking portal account if you’re already registered for the conference!

Delegates can also embark on organised safaris and tours before or after the conference to experience Kenya’s breathtaking wildlife and landscapes. These excursions, from local city tours, beachside offers and animal sanctuaries, are designed to cater to diverse interests and schedules, allowing participants to tailor their experience. IASP delegates who sign up for these tours will be grouped together by the tour operator where possible, so that even if you book individually you will still be with your IASP colleagues.

Further details on the programme, venues, and tours are available on the IASP Nairobi website. As the conference approaches, it promises to be a dynamic and insightful gathering for innovation leaders across the globe.
